Roxanne Modafferi, an American mixed martial artist, was born on September 24, 1982, in Wilmington, Delaware, USA.

As a teenager in Pennsylvania, she began training in Taekwondo, transitioning to American Kenpo Karate shortly after. To further her grappling skills, she joined a Judo club in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where she earned a brown belt within three years.
